All soil is not the same. You need to check the soil to make sure it’s the best for what you’re planting. Pay a small fee to have your soil analyzed, and you’ll be glad that you did when you understand what nutrients your soil is lacking. The cost of the analysis will be easily offset by the benefits of a healthy and vibrant crop.
Healthy soil will be your best defense against the pests that can invade your garden. Healthier plants are greater in strength and resistance to illness and insects. Healthy, rich soil with fewer chemicals will increase the yield of your plants, and reduce accumulated salts.
Whether you have been gardening for a few days or a few decades, you must never deviate from the instructions on the labeling of all implements and chemicals. To help create new plants, use root cuttings. The roots are dormant in the winter, so that is when they should be cut. Use a sharp gardening knife to cut the longest and thickest roots off of the plant. Trim each root to a length of two inches. Place the cut up roots on top of a seed tray that his been filled with healthy soil. Place a light layer of the grit and peat mixture on top of it. Store the seed tray in a cool area, and in approximately one month, your new seedlings will have started to sprout. Transplant the cuttings to small pots, and allow them to grow a little prior to planting them outside.
With some houseplants, they be required to have humidity. You could create humidity by grouping different kinds of plants together in a pot, or you could also plant it in a bigger pot while filling the gap with stones or compost. Another way to give your plants humidity is to spray mist on them with water a couple of times each day.
