Just run some measuring tape right on the floor next to the handles. Label the distances on the handle with a marker pen that will not smear or fade away. When you are gardening next, you’ll have a ruler beside you at all times.
Do not rush planting seeds in your garden. Begin by adding moisture to the dirt. Next, you will want to evenly distribute your seeds to ensure sufficient growing space. Multiply the size of each seed by three and bury the seed that deep. There are some varieties of seed that are not planted underground since they require light to grow.
There are several annuals that thrive during the cooler months. These plants may need to be trimmed if they are growing too much during these months. After a couple of weeks, you will see these annuals bloom again, and they will look beautiful when compared to all of the winter foliage. Annuals that look pretty in cold weather are petunias, snapdragons and dianthus.
Apply organic mulch generously around your vegetable plants. The mulch help keeps the soil that is around the plants much more moist for much longer. It will also prevent weeds from growing. This will save you a ton of time and work.
